• Amogya Masoor Malka Split or Pink split lentils has a pretty reddish-orange color in its dried form, but it turns yellow when cooked.
• Masoor Malka are basically the split red lentils without the skin. These cook relatively quickly.
• After cooking, ‘Malka ki dal’ seems similar to yellow Moong dal but the two are very different in flavour and texture.
• Masoor Malka dal can be cooked with tempering of onions, tomatoes and green chillies, which provides a wonderful flavour to it.
